Terms and conditions of enrolment at Abraham Devar's Academy for Music & Song
Attendance:
Learners are expected to attend every lesson that they pay for as per the schedule. Lessons that are not attended are forfeit and cannot be rescheduled as we do not have the space to reschedule. While this may be painful to sponsors we remind parents and sponsors that our revenue is based on our time table and we cannot make allowances in this regard.
Tuition:
ADAMS sells its music tuition on an hourly basis. Lessons are sold in groups of 4 or 5 depending on the number of weeks per month. This equates to one lesson per week which is the minimum required to be registered with ADAMS. Not attending class as per the schedule means that a learner will not be prepared for the examinations.
Compulsory Resource:
The music resource kit must be purchased by every registrant since it contains practical studies, technical work and theory of music. Registration is subject to the purchase of necessary material to commence studies. Resource supplied to third party music institutions / schools are supplied at a special rate subject specific terms such as disclosure of it register to ADAMS and rights to audit. Secure electronic assess is provided to external institutions.
Prior Learning:
Learners who have already written theory examinations may commence from the next grade. Example: Where a learner has already Passed Grade 1 when joining ADAMS the learner may proceed to study grade 2.
Examinations:
Rules for the governance of the examinations are controlled by the four examining bodies, namely, Rock School London, Trinity Guild Hall London, The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music London and University of South Africa. ADAMS has no control over the criteria for admission or the terms prescribed by these institutions. Fees are prescribed by each of the examining bodies and may be changed as per the annual schedule of fees.

ADAMS accepts electronic mail as its only and primary means of official communication with clients. While clients may use the telephone and SMS to communicate with ADAMS, for the purpose of this agreement electronic mail will be the official media for communicating with learners. Should ADAMS respond to an SMS or telephone call such action may not be considered a waiver of its rights to use electronic mail as the only and primary source of written communication for official business.
